Italian Restaurants Around Northeast Ohio - Cutler Real Estate

One of our favorite ways to warm up on a frigid winter day is to indulge in a fresh homemade pasta dish. There's something comforting about eating a classic Italian meal, whether in-house or to-go. The smell of fresh Italian herbs, the taste of fine wine, and the sight of a freshly prepared pasta dish create a truly enjoyable dining experience.

Whether you're planning a family dinner or a romantic date night, there are several delicious Italian restaurants in the Northeast Ohio area that offer amazing menus with entrees not to be missed. Below are nine recommendations for local restaurants where you just might discover your favorite new pasta dish.

Maxi's Bistro

12113 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland, OH 44106

Another great choice in Cleveland's Little Italy is Maxi's Bistro. This restaurant is frequently known as one of the best places to visit in Cleveland. Maxi's menu offers several classic Italian dishes, pastas, and gourmet pizzas in a relaxing setting with a welcoming ambiance. You have to try the Lobster Ravioli with cognac cream sauce! The restaurant is currently open for limited dining capacity and delivery, takeout, and curbside pickup. In the summertime, they have a beautiful garden patio for outdoor dining.

Trattoria On The Hill

12207 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland, OH 44106

Located in the heart of Cleveland's Little Italy, Trattoria On The Hill has been serving old-school Italian cuisine since 1984. This family-owned-and-operated restaurant features all the classic Italian dishes like Cavatelli, Ravioli, and Linguine With Clams. Best of all, they actually sell jars of their signature sauce on-site. If you'd prefer to eat your pasta dinner at home, Trattoria On The Hill is currently accepting takeout orders by phone.

Molto Bene Italian Eatery

18401 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, OH 44107

What could be better than contemporary pasta dishes in a warm, cozy atmosphere? Head on over to Lakewood and check out Molto Bene Italian Eatery. If you love delicious Lasagna, Tortellini, Gnocchi, Fettuccine, and a wide range of savory homemade Italian sauces, Molto Bene is the place for you. Best of all, you can indulge in their award-winning Gelato for dessert. Molto Bene is frequently considered one of Lakewood's best Italian restaurants, and we definitely recommend it. Party sizes are currently limited to five people or less, and reservations are recommended as space is limited. Hard time getting a table? Takeout is also available.

D'Agnese's Trattoria and Cafe

566 White Pond Dr., Akron, OH 44320

For a traditional white-tablecloth dining experience, head on down to Akron and try D'Agnese's Trattoria and Cafe at White Pond. This cozy restaurant serves classic Italian cuisine at a reasonable price. They offer an eloquent dine-in experience, but you can also call in for carryout or curbside pickup. The chef prepares a carefully crafted menu of monthly specials, so there are always various new dishes to try. If you would prefer to stick to the classics, you can't go wrong with the Pan-Seared Salmon over Risotto or one of their delicious gourmet pizzas!

Mia Bella Restaurant

12200 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland, OH 44106

A contemporary Italian restaurant with a Mediterranean twist, Cleveland's Mia Bella Restaurant is a family-owned-and-operated establishment serving up some of the best pasta dishes in Northeast Ohio. Add in a large selection of wines from around the world, and Mia Bella's makes for a fantastic date night spot. The chef has more than 20 years of experience cooking in fine-dining establishments, so you know you're going to have a delicious meal. Outdoor dining is available on the patio when weather permits; however, indoor dining capacity is limited. Carryout orders are available by phone.

Both dine-in and takeout options are available.

Luigi's Restaurant

105 N. Main St., Akron, OH 44308

If you like a homestyle casual family atmosphere, Luigi's Restaurant in Akron is an absolute must-try. Established in 1949, Luigi's has been an Akron staple for several decades. The Baked Lasagna with garlic bread is absolutely delicious. The portions are huge, and the prices are reasonable, so it's a good idea to come hungry. For dessert, you have to try one of Luigi's freshly-baked pies! The restaurant is open for limited dine-in seating; however, they do get very busy, so plan your visit accordingly. Takeout orders can be placed by phone if you'd prefer to try Luigi's at home.

Bruno's Ristorante

2644 W. 41st St., Cleveland, OH 44113

Located just south of downtown Cleveland is Bruno's Ristorante. This classic restaurant offers authentic Italian dining and a variety of delicious pasta dishes designed by Chef Bruno himself. Enjoying some homemade Gnocchi with Bruno's blush sauce in a warm, intimate atmosphere is the perfect way to warm up on a cold winter night. Bruno's menu is designed to delight both the eye and the palette and the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. Dine-in, takeout, and delivery options are all available. Be sure to make a reservation if you're planning to stop by on a weekend.

Guarino's

12309 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland, OH 44106

For some truly old-school Italian fare, stop by Cleveland's oldest restaurant. Guarino's, located in Little Italy, was opened by Vincenzo Guarino after he came from Sicily in 1898. The menu features dishes like Gnocchi Pesto, Pasta Primavera, and Linguine With Clam Sauce, along with all the classics.  The restaurant also has a beautiful garden area for outdoor dining when weather permits. Guarino's is currently open for dine-in eating, but takeout can also be ordered online. Valet parking is also available on weekends.

Now That's Amore!

Northeast Ohio Restaurants for Tempura Day | Cutler Real Estate

Who's hungry for some tempura? Tempura Day is on January 7th, and we're ready to dig into the best tempura Northeast Ohio has to offer. Unfamiliar with this Japanese dish? Tempura is not a food, but rather, a style of food, similar to "fried." Tempura is a batter traditionally made with flour, water, and egg yolks, but more contemporary batters may use starch or baking soda to create a crispier texture. No matter how it's made, it makes everything from seafood to vegetables taste amazing. Celebrate Tempura Day in Northeast Ohio with a tempura dish at these restaurants.

Kasai Japanese Restaurant

3875 Massillon Rd. #300, Uniontown, OH 44685

For more than 15 years, Kasai Japanese Restaurant gained a following that has helped them become one of the most popular Japanese restaurants in the area. From appetizers to sushi to dinner combos, Kasai offers a variety of tempura options, including shrimp, vegetables, and chicken. Their Kasai Lunch Specials come with tempura, house salad, and miso soup, but if it's sushi that you prefer, Alaskan Beauty Roll, Grouching Tiger Roll, and Kasai Crazy Roll are waiting for you.

Shuhei Restaurant

23360 Chagrin Blvd., Beachwood, OH 44122

Looking for traditional Japanese tempura served in a traditional Japanese atmosphere? Shuhei Restaurant is your destination. The waitstaff wear kimonos, and artwork on the walls date back hundreds of years. Japanese desserts, sake, and ramen are served up alongside Tempura Soba and Tori Tempura. One bite and you'll see why so many celebrities, athletes, and high-profile figures come to Shuhei when in Northeast Ohio.

SASA

13120 Shaker Square, Cleveland, OH 44120

There are so many tempura dishes at SASA that you'll definitely need to visit again and again to try them all. The classics like shrimp tempura are on the menu, but we think you should try a few unique options like Calamari Tempura Salad, Yam Tempura, and the Scandinavian Roll with whitefish tempura. Try to pop in right when the workday ends to take advantage of Happy Hour specials on tapas plates and alcohol.

Kintaro All You Can Eat Sushi & Hot Pot

7325 Northcliff Ave., Brooklyn, Ohio 44144

A post shared by Petchy.N (@impetch33)

If the unlimited sushi doesn't get you through the door of Kintaro All You Can Eat Sushi & Hot Pot, then their amazing tempura dishes will. Soft Shell Crab Tempura and California Tempura rolls are must-haves and can be ordered with your choice of tempura vegetables like zucchini, sweet potato, mushroom, and broccoli.  Of course, you can't go wrong taking advantage of the all-you-can-eat sushi, so feel free to go crazy with Chicken Tempura and Shrimp Tempura rolls until you're stuffed!

Omizu Japanese Restaurant

6843 Ridge Rd., Parma, OH 44129

Whether you're a fan of traditional or modern Japanese cuisine, Omizu Japanese Restaurant is ready to treat you to a night of unforgettable bites. Their Temp Udon Hot Pot is a great alternative to the typical shrimp, chicken, and veggie tempura (though no shame in ordering the tried and true classics). Be sure to try some other unique offerings, like Wasabi Tobiko, Uni, Pork Katsu, and Chirashi.

Ginko Restaurant

2247 Professor Ave. B., Cleveland, OH 44113

Ginko Restaurant prepares masterpieces that look way too good to eat. When you finally give in and chow down, you'll be blown away by the taste. Share this delicious food with your family, friends, or team, and let Ginko treat you to a private tasting menu or buffet/family style catering. Order up plenty of tempura veggies alongside your choice of entrees, starches, and desserts. Tempura Day only comes once a year; why not celebrate in style?

Umi Sushi

7558 Pearl Rd., Middleburg Heights, OH 44130

At Umi Sushi, they believe that small changes — such as using better ingredients — have huge impacts on food. You'll immediately taste these little differences in every big bite you take of Authentic Wok Tempura. Umi Sushi is a great lunch or dinner spot, but we insist that you visit during happy hour for discounted tempura sushi rolls and finish them off in style with decadent Tempura Vanilla Ice Cream.

Parallax

2179 W. 11th St., Cleveland, OH 44113

French cooking techniques receive an Asian flourish at Parallax. Fusion seafood and sushi are highlighted on their delicious menu. Fancy Vegetable Tempura with your Duck Confit? What about Tempura Lobster Tail and a side of Tempura Green Beans? These palette pleasers and more are ready for you to experience at Parallax.

12 Reasons to Move to Ohio - Cutler Real Estate

Did you know the Center of the World is in Ohio? Yes, there actually is an unincorporated community by that name near Youngstown, not far from the Pennsylvania state line.

But there are a number of truly compelling reasons why one of the state's slogans is, "Center of the Universe." If you're looking for a new home in 2021, here are a dozen fascinating features that make a great case for finding it in Northeast Ohio, Columbus, or Cincinnati.

  1. Cleveland Rocks!

America's musical legacy includes genres from country to gospel, but none is more deeply entrenched in our country's spirit than rock and roll. Cleveland disc jockey Alan Freed coined that iconic term, so it's only fitting that the city was chosen to be the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Designed by legendary architect I.M. Pei, the Hall was dedicated in 1995 and includes 338 inductees.

  2. Marching to a Different Drum

Most big cities have a number of first-class historical, scientific, and art museums, and Cleveland is no exception. But if you prefer exploring culture that's a little offbeat, you're in luck. Cleveland features several delightfully quirky collections that pay tribute to the weirder side of life. Start your journey by checking out the Buckland Museum of Witchcraft and the Dittrick Museum of Medical History.

  3. Thrills, Chills, and Spills

    View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Cedar Point (@cedarpoint)

Lake Erie's shoreline is also the site of another type of rockin' and rollin'. Cedar Point in Sandusky proudly bears the title of "Roller Coaster Capital of the World." With its world-record 71 rides, 17 of which are roller coasters, the park has been an annual summer tradition for countless families. As the second-oldest amusement park in the United States, Cedar Point's humble beginnings date back to 1870, when it consisted of a public beach, beer garden, and dance floor.

  4. Dotting the "I"

More than 60,000 students can't be wrong: Ohio State University is one of the largest and most prestigious institutes of higher learning in the country. OSU's top academic programs are matched by collegiate sports teams that frequently sit atop the national rankings. The marching band's halftime performance of Script Ohio, with a sousaphone player dotting the "i," has become one of the most enduring and beloved traditions of Saturday afternoon football games at the "Horseshoe."

  5. I Triple-Dog Dare Ya!

Warm, witty, and relatable, A Christmas Story has become a holiday classic for all ages. Reenact your favorite scenes at the actual house that served as the Parker family home, located in Cleveland's historic and elegant Tremont neighborhood. Right across the street is the companion museum, where you can view memorabilia such as Randy's snowsuit and purchase your very own "fra-gee-lay" leg lamp.

  6. Prost!

With the rise of microbreweries, domestic beers began to rival imports in terms of variety and quality. Hipster towns such as Denver, Seattle, and Portland are often considered leaders in this movement, but did you know that Columbus ranks in the top five U.S. cities for craft beer production?  Untappd, an app focusing on all things beer-related, gives high marks to local favorites Hoof Hearted, Pretentious Barrel House, and Columbus Brewing Company.

  7. All Roads Lead to Columbus

Do you enjoy having family and friends come to visit? It's a little-known and astonishing fact that 48 percent of the U.S. population lives within a 500-mile radius of Columbus. Major urban centers such as Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C. are no more than a day's drive away. Toronto and Ottawa are also within that radius, adding some international flair.

  8. Fast Food Nation

As the birthplace of Wendy's and Buffalo Wild Wings and the headquarters of White Castle, Columbus has plenty of fast food cred. That's just one of the reasons why the city has become well-known as Test Market, USA. Thrillist, Business Insider, and other sources have long noted that Columbus is the go-to for Starbucks, Burger King, and other national brands testing new products. The city's diverse demographics are valued as an ideal cross-section of the national population.

  9. Living on the Square in Cincinnati

Fans of classic sitcoms immediately recognize Fountain Square from its cameo in the opening credits of WKRP in Cincinnati. As downtown's shopping, entertainment, and cultural hub, Fountain Square is truly the heart and soul of this vibrant city.

  10. Crossing the Line

Cincinnati's fabulousness can't be contained by just one state. The metropolitan area spills across the Ohio River into Kentucky, incorporating such charming cities as Florence, Union, and Walton. Cross the historic, Brooklyn Bridge-esque John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge to travel from Cincinnati to Covington, which is the actual home of the Cincinnati International Airport.

  11. It's All About the Chili

    View this post on Instagram

A post shared by OTR Chili (@otrchili)

Chili is a dish that lends itself to a wide range of ingredients and preparations. But Cincinnati still managed to put itself on the culinary map with a unique version that keeps people coming back for more. More of a sauce than a stew or soup, Cincinnati chili is almost always served on top of hot dogs or spaghetti noodles. Unexpected seasonings such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and chocolate give the chili a Mediterranean flavor. Order it 3-way topped with cheddar cheese, add onions or beans to make it 4-way, or go for the works with 5-way.

  12. The Color Purple

Get a good workout or embrace eco-friendly forms of transportation with a brisk walk across the Newport Southbank Bridge. The span, familiarly known as the Purple People Bridge due to its distinctive color, is a half-mile-long pedestrian bridge connecting Cincinnati and Newport, KY.

Sled Riding Destinations - Northeast Ohio - Cutler Real Estate

The Northeast Ohio area is known for its vast number of recreational opportunities that make it a great place to live or visit. There's plenty to do outdoors throughout the year, but when the snow starts to accumulate, the real fun begins. Sledding is a popular activity for all ages, and you'll see young kids, as well as adults, zipping down local hills with abandon all winter long.

Fortunately, you can find many sledding hills to visit throughout the area, so you probably won't have to visit the same place twice in a season – unless you want to, of course! From the tamer hills that are appropriate for kids or beginners to steeper ones that will appeal to the more adventurous, Northeast Ohio has sledding hills to suit every age and comfort level.

Grab your sled, bundle up, and check out the following 10 sled riding spots in Northeast Ohio that are sure to get your adrenaline pumping:

Goodyear Heights Metro Park Sled Riding Hill – Summit Metroparks

2077 Newton St., Akron, OH 44305

Goodyear Heights Metro Park's sledding hill is extremely popular, so you may want to try it during off-peak (early morning) hours to get the best experience. The hill is large and steep and has a rope along the side to help you get back up to the top, and you'll also find fire barrels along the way to help you warm up. And if you'd like to sled in the dark, Goodyear Heights has lights for nighttime sledding.

Punderson State Park Sled Riding Hill

11755 Kinsman Rd., Newbury, OH 44065

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Mike Gillam (@mikegillam61)

One of northeast Ohio's premier winter sports parks, Punderson has not only sledding but also cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails. There's even a cabin to warm up in and a lighted hill if you want to sled under the stars. And if you'd like to stay the night, family cabins, as well as a resort manor house, are available.

Chapin Forest Reservation

9938 Chillicothe Rd. (Rt. 306), Kirtland, OH 44094

If you have young kids, they may not be ready for some of the area's larger sledding hills. But the small hill at Chapin Forest Reservation is perfect for young sledders. It's frequented by cross-country skiers to practice their control skills, but it's also used for sledding. You'll find the hill off the Hobart Road entrance to the park.

Riverview Park Sled Riding Hill – Lake Metroparks

4895 Bailey Rd., Madison, OH 44057

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Kyle Horton (@kylehortonn)

You'll find Riverview Park Sled Riding Hill conveniently located next to the parking lot, so you'll have an easy trip from your car before you can enjoy some fun sledding. This is the park district's steepest hill, and you can whiz down it until 11 p.m. If you need to warm up, there's a fire ring with firewood near the picnic shelter.

Cascade Park

387 Furnace St., Elyria, OH 44035

You'll find one of Lorain County's most popular sledding hills at Cascade Park in Elyria. The large hill is visible from the main entrance, and you'll also find a small playground and restrooms conveniently located at the bottom of the hill – two things that will come in handy if you're bringing the kids along.

Firestone Metropark – Sled Hill Drop-Off – Summit Metroparks

55 E. Warner Rd., Akron, OH 4431

Firestone Metropark is great for all ages and for those who are thrill-seekers as well as those who would rather sled on a smaller hill. That's because it has a large hill that has steep sections as well as those with a slower incline. The hill isn't lighted, so come earlier in the day if you're ready to make your way down.

Boettler Park Sled Riding Hill

5300 Massilon Rd., North Canton, OH 44720

Summit County's Boettler Park Sled Riding Hill is large and is appropriate for a wide range of ages since the hill has varying inclines. There's also a 30,000-square-foot playground located nearby on Heritage Hill, as well as places to snowboard and cross-country ski. You'll also find heated restrooms conveniently located near the riding hill.

Sand Run Metro Park – North Hawkins Area Sled Riding Hill – Summit Metroparks

800 N. Hawkins Ave., Akron, OH 44313

North Hawkins Area Sled Riding Hill has been popular for generations of sledders and is still a go-to destination for those who are looking for a large sled-riding hill. Go after dark if you'd like since the hill is lighted. You can also cross-country ski on trails or ice skate on a pond once it's frozen over.

Vermilion River Reservation – Mill Hollow Sled Riding Hill – Lorain County Metroparks

51211 N. Ridge Rd., Vermilion, OH 44089

Zooming down a large sled riding hill at Vermilion River Reservation has been a popular activity for many years, and that remains true. The large hill is on your right as you enter the Bacon Woods area of Vermilion River Reservation, and when you get too cold, you can warm up in a nearby shelter that's partially enclosed.

Kendall Hills Sled Riding Hills – Cuyahoga Valley National Park

5465 Quick Rd., Peninsula, OH 44264

You'll find several hills of varying inclines to slide down at Cuyahoga Valley National Park once you go deep into the park (about a mile east of Akron Peninsula Road). There's a separate area for sleds and toboggans, and you'll find a burn barrel to help you warm up at the top.

Get Your Thrills on Sledding Hills

Which hills will you be zooming down this season? Bundle up and get ready to have some fun!
